After a re-schedule due to rainy weather, we were finally able to get Lucas' senior pictures taken. Lucas plays soccer for the Castle Varsity Soccer team and was part of leading his team to the Sectional Championships!! Way to go Lucas!

Sneak Peek for John.. Senior.. Castle High School

I really enjoyed yesterdays senior session with John and his mom Lee Ann. We walked all over downtown Newburgh shooting in all of my favorite locations. John was always ready with a smile and a great pose. He is a talented guitar and ukulele player as well as a fantastic swimmer for the Castle Swim Team.

If I had to choose a favorite senior guy to photograph it would have to be Tyler! He was a natural in front of the camera. He took directions well and was willing to try new things, even in the middle of town and even when they made him feel silly. Tyler, when I need to try out a new location, you're my new go to guy!

Sneak Peek for Devin : Senior 2011

When Devin and her mom contacted me to do Devin's senior pictures I was thrilled when they said they wanted to style the whole shoot with a vintage flair. We met a month before her session, shared our visions, talked about props and giggled with excitement about the possibilities. It rained almost daily for several weeks after we met. Floods, tornadoes, hail, you name it. It has been one crazy spring! I checked the 5 day forecast and was delighted to see that the day we picked to shoot called for SUN! We arrived at the session location, the sun was shining but there were gail force winds. Better than rain. We began to shoot and the winds blew in clouds and the clouds threatened to rain on us. But we stuck it out and got some amazing photos.
So, Devin, here are a few images to tide you over until I get more processed this week. So far to date this has been my favorite senior session!!

I get asked this question a lot. My standard answer is: wear what you feel comfortable in. If you're wearing something that doesn't fit well, suit your mood for the day or express your uniqueness then chances are you won't be able to give me your true personality to capture. I'm not afraid of bold colors or prints. Bring em' on!

I was online browsing for some style ideas for an upcoming client and found this great site that had a lot of outfits put together. Some were extreme, but these caught my eye and made me think that my senior girls and family moms could wear these outfits and shine.

Love this family!

Everyone showed up early, with smiles, fresh dressed and perfect hair and make-up.

You would never know that they had already had 4 games between soccer and football all before 2pm.

The boys all volunteered to carry my props and camera bag for me.

Everyone was calm and paid attention.

Ok, maybe one little meltdown, but the promise of McDonalds after the shoot was enough to perk that somebody up real fast.

I took my oldest son, Evan and his girlfriend Stephanie downtown to scout out a new location for a senior shoot. Here are some of the images we captured that day.

This building used to be the Evansville Jail. It was built in the 1800's and now houses a local attorney's office. One of the attorneys came out and asked us if we wanted to take a tour of the inside.

Of course we said yes!

This photo was taken inside one of the original jail cells.

I locked the kids up for smooching in public. hehe

Over the weekend I had the pleasure to meet my new niece for the first time. She's was 9 days old, soft, snuggly and sound asleep. I took the opportunity to take a few photos of her.

Raegan and Payton's Sneak Peek!

Spring is here! Raegan and Payton came to the studio for spring portraits.
It was so fun photographing little girls. Bows, flowers, dresses, sugar and spice and everything nice!

I bought this little hat as a prop last winter. I've never had a chance to use it yet. I asked Raegan if she would model it for me. She was pretty much over the picture taking part. I told her she didn't have to smile, just give me a serious face. I got a serious pout instead! Love it!

My photographer friend Donya of Donya Faith Photography had a new little bundle of joy she needed to photograph but was concerned her garage studio would be too cold for the little one. She asked to use my warm studio. Of course I said yes. Any chance to help my friend. What a great shoot. I loved being on the assist end of the shoot, instead of being the primary photographer. I even got to snap a few photos of this beautiful little girl. This one was my favorite, so I thought I would share with you.

My how time has gone by so fast. This little guy came for pictures when he was 3 months old and 6 months old. He's got the best personality, all smiles and laughs. His laugh just melts my heart! Mom says he's pretty easy going and loves to try and keep up with his big brothers and sister. Thanks for being such a sweet boy today! Hope mom loves her sneak peeks!

Three of the cutest kiddos came to see me today in the studio. Twin 5 year old boys and their sweet little 3 year old sister. October is here and it's the beginning of Fall Family Photo Sessions. First up is the Mulzer family. They were my first October family last year too! You'll notice one of their boys up in the blog header.

After 4 days of rain last week, I was certainly glad to wake up to clear blue skies and sunshine on Saturday morning, and it lasted all day! The ground was a bit soggy, so I brought my new Eastlake Setee circa 1870 to sit on.

We had a great family shoot, despite the amount of Daddy Long Leg spiders that live on the stone wall, we were able to use it as a great backdrop.

Oh, I have to tell the story behind this one. We were in this alley shooting, when I noticed this beautiful 1949 Chevrolet heading down the street toward us. I said, "Wouldn't THAT be cool to shoot with!" Just then the driver pulled over to see what we were doing. When he found out we were shooting senior pictures he offered his car! Wow! Talk about the right place at the right time! I ended up taking the couples photo with their car and plan to send copies for them and their 5 children!

Meet Hadley Joy. She is a 7 day old peaceful and sweet little girl. She spent most of our session together today wide awake. Her mama kept trying to get her to drift off to sleep so we could get some sleeping baby poses, but Hadley decided she didn't want to miss a thing. I think it's due to the 6 big brothers and 1 big sister that she has a home! They must be some great entertainment!

As always, I love to photograph these boys. Their blue eyes, cute hair cuts, hip clothes and cool looks make my job fun! We drove around downtown Newburgh looking for a few new places to shoot in. Thanks for being so patient boys! It was a hot day. We tried not to over work Mckay because he had a 5k race to run later that evening. I'm proud to say that he came in 3rd place and got a great trophy!

Meet my new friend Logan. Logan loves to play video games. He filled me in on all of his favorite games and players. He's got the cutest dimples and smile and a great personality to boot. Sweet Inside and Out

This little guy is 6 months old now. Still just a sweet as ever, maybe even sweeter if that's possible. I first photographed him at 3 months old and now he's back for another milestone photo session.

I tried a new processing style out. It's a vintage brown twist with a hand tinting of color on the cheeks.

It was my pleasure to meet and photograph the Webb Family yesterday. Dan is the worship pastor at a new church here in Newburgh. New Day Fellowship Church. The family was such a delight to work with. Oh the boys had me fooled at first, they were so quite and shy, but get dad to tickle them or tell them to roll down the hill and all the little boy giggles come pouring out! I will say that my favorite part of the whole time we spent together was taking pictures of the family sitting under a big shade tree next to the pond while Dan played the acoustic guitar and the family sang worship songs! Meet Matt!

Standouts

Standout is a thick lightweight board finished with a black plastic edge and comes ready to display with hanging holes on the backside. Standout is available in two depths, 3/4” and and 1-1/2”, and nothing extra needs to be done to prepare for display.

Gallery Wraps

Papers
Gallery Wraps are available printed on a fine art canvas using an inkjet process or as a Metallic or Lustre Photographic Paper using a traditional canvas process. Metallic and Lustre paper Gallery Wraps enhance the look and vibrancy of your image. With photographic print gallery wraps, an actual photographic print is created and its emulsion is stripped, bonded to canvas and wrapped around the wood frame.

Construction
Your image is printed larger than the final print size so that it can be wrapped around the wooden frame. Gallery Wraps are made with real wood available in 1-1/2" and 2-1/2" depths. Mix and match lengths to create the perfect custom size.
All gallery wraps include a matte, semi-gloss, or high gloss laminate to protect the gallery wrap from scuffs, scratches, and cracking. The laminate also provides UV light protection.
Framing paper covers the back of the gallery wrap and metal hangers and bumpers are applied to the corners. Your gallery wrap will be ready to hang on the wall the minute it arrives

18 Months and Busy!

This is C, you might remember him as Mr. Cuteness last August. He's 18 months old now and a very busy toddler. He walks, he runs, he climbs and he talks. He's is so cute I couldn't stop taking pictures of him. I followed him around and around and around snapping as he discovered throwing rocks, walking through the tall grass, spotting a turtle in the pond and bumble bees in the flowers. I had the privilege to meet two of the cutest little boys today. Matthew and Mason. Their smiles and easy going personalities made my job fun! I hope they had fun too. Matthew was full of questions and everything about my house intrigued him. He had the best expressions. This is a photo of him looking for Elmo in my camera lens.

Meet Mason. This was his first photo shoot. He's so dog-gone cute, I couldn't even pick one picture to show you. So here's two.

What a Cutie!

This has got to be the most adorable little girl I have ever met. She payed me for her session today with hugs and kisses and a dollar from her own purse. She was a delight to photograph, full of smiles and poses, some super silly ones too! Maybe I can share those later. Until then, here are a few of my favorites!

This black and white image was requested from C's mom. C has two other adopted sisters that wore their traditional Chinese outfits when they were her age and posed for a serious faced black and white portrait. Hope you like this one Debbie!
